STATEMENT OF FAITH – We Believe . . .

  • The Bible is the only infallible, inspired and authoritative Word of God.
  • There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
  • In the Blessed Hope – the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming.
  • The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
  • The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

Thank you for your interest in Bethesda Worship Center. We are a Spirit-filled evangelical, Christian Church, with a rich  heritage in the community of Sheridan. In just a few minutes you will be reading some information about why we exist as an organized body. But first let us share a few other words about our ministry. It is our sincere desire to be the New Testament Church of the Bible. We are a church that is bringing God’s people together, encouraging them to connect with God, connect with each other, and serve our world through various ministries of Bethesda Worship Center.

Bethesda is family! We make everyone a part and accept individuals for who they are. Our ministry is a ministry of love and that love is not expressed by words alone, but by our actions as well. We love you enough to preach and teach the truths of God’s Word without compromise. We love people enough to tell them that those who have been set free by God’s Word should also live by His words.

One of the greatest rewards of a follower of Christ is the opportunity to worship God. Worship is to the follower of Christ what air is to mankind-essential!! Music plays a vital role in our worship at BWC. Therefore, you will notice a nice mixture of Praise and Worship expressed in the singing of your favorite hymns, contemporary worship choruses and special singing. Our worship is expressed in a variety of different ways which include singing, dancing, crying, praying, giving, raising and clapping our hands, bowing down on our knees, the playing of musical instruments and the list goes on and on. One thing for certain, people will worship differently, and here at  Bethesda we simply want to encourage each individual to worship God as the Holy Spirit leads them. The following will help you understand why and how we worship the way we do.

Why Do We Worship

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit, and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.” (John 4:23)

“The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast down their crowns before the throne, saying: You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for you created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.”  (Revelation 4:10-11)

“Jesus said to him…for it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.” (Matthew 4:10)
